Teachers protest using test scores in evaluations
Teachers in the Oildale-area Standard School District are upset about a proposed policy to use test scores in evaluating teachers. But don't worry, say district officials, the words won't actually be enforced. The issue came up at a district board meeting last month but a vote was postponed when Trustee Pam Neal expressed concern. The policy said student assessment data could be used, in part, to evaluate teachers. This past Tuesday, dozens of Standard teachers descended on the school board to protest the wording, among other things.
