San Juan district could reconfigure Encina high, close high-tech academy

In an effort to improve one of the lowest-performing schools in the state, San Juan Unified district trustees are considering adding sixth, seventh and eighth grades to Encina Preparatory High School next year. Trustees discussed those changes, the closure of Jonas Salk High-Tech Academy and the relocation of Thomas Edison Elementary at a workshop Tuesday.
