New Poll Finds Americans Divided Along Racial And Political Lines On The Issue Of Reopening Schools

As deliberations over reopening U.S. schools rage on amid surging Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations in many states, a new poll released Thursday finds that most parents (60%) with children prefer that schools wait to restart in-person learning to reduce infection risk rather than (34%) open sooner so parents can work and students can return to the classroom, with parents of color (76%) and Democrats (87%) overwhelmingly in favor of waiting.
