Commentary: School Choice, The All-Purpose Bogeyman

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: “America’s schools are going to Hell in a handbasket, and it’s all charter schools and school vouchers’ fault.” OK, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it seems more and more like school choice programs are being blamed for the ills of the nation’s schools. School choice is becoming a kind of all-purpose bogeyman. No matter what the problem, school choice programs allegedly are at fault.
