Tensions rising again among teachers, administration at Central Falls High School
The tattered relationship between school district leaders and the city’s teachers union has frayed further in recent weeks, even as the two sides try to collaborate to improve troubled Central Falls High School. This tiny city has not recovered from the mass firing of all the teachers at the high school last year. Even though all the teachers’ jobs were ultimately saved, bitterness remains.

Bitter dispute between teachers and district officials over reform at troubled Central Falls High. Low morale blamed for high absentee rate and resignations. Why not clear up misunderstanding over merit pay—this should reward good teachers. The only certainty here is kids are the losers. Both sides need to get back to the table and make students top priority.
