Schools push up report-card grade 3/17/2011 12:10 AM

The Aiken County School District has received an absolute rating of "average" on the 2010 district report card for state test performance, an improvement from the below-average grade of 2009. But the "big wow," as Associate Superintendent Dr. Kevin O'Gorman described it, is the growth rating of "excellent," a huge jump over the "at-risk" growth grade of the previous year.
