New Collective Bargaining Proposal Gives Management Job of Crafting Teacher Protections
The latest version of a bill to strip the Tennessee Education Association of the right to collectively bargain surfaced today in the state Senate. It was met with an angry reaction from spokesmen for the teacher’s group. Senator Jack Johnson of Williamson County says his new amendment to the bill has only a few changes. School boards would get some training on how to “collaborate” with teachers. And it specifies who would write the manual meant to protect teachers.
