Making The Grade

Grade our schools, if we must

The idea that Louisiana should assign a letter grade to each public school seemed to be a purely cosmetic change that no one had reason to get excited about. Currently, schools get a School Performance Score based on test results, the number of qualified teachers and the like, and parents are told how that number stacks up against the goals in the accountability program.
