Binding arbitration dies in House

Legislation to expand binding arbitration for teachers died without a vote in the state House of Representatives Thursday evening, ending one of the most contentious battles of the General Assembly’s regular session. The bill — a suddenly explosive topic in the session’s hectic closing hours — could be resurrected if the Assembly reconvenes, as expected, later this year.
