Letter: Admissions office, reaching for rural students, came up empty-handed

Re “Diversity means white rural kids, too” (Ideas, June 9): I spent a decade as an admissions officer at a rural, selective, nationally ranked liberal arts college. Admission policy embraced multiple forms of diversity: religious, geographic, economic, political, racial, sexual orientation, you name it.
