Region shut out of new state charter schools board

Northwest Indiana will not be represented on a new state board with the power to establish charter schools. Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels appointed two Indianapolis men Tuesday to the final slots on the Indiana Charter School Board. They join an additional Indianapolis member, two appointees from Fort Wayne and one each from Ellettsville and Evansville.

Final state charter board selections do not include officials from Northwest IN. Can't say this matters too much compared to having an independent state authorizer in first place though. Ball dropped.
