Kentucky Bill Aims To Increase Flexibility For School Districts

The chairman of the House Education Committee is crafting a bill aimed at promoting innovation in Kentucky schools as an alternative to charter school legislation pushed by Senate Republicans. Democratic Rep. Carl Rollins II of Midway said Tuesday his proposal would allow school districts to seek state approval to be relieved from meeting certain requirements under state law.
