In proposed state budget, possible elimination of charter reimbursement surprises school districts

If a student chooses to attend a charter school or cyber charter school, the student's district must pay that charter school its per-pupil cost of education. In the past, the state has reimbursed the district a portion of that amount -- 30 percent of charter expenses for most districts, but nearly 42 percent for districts with a higher number of students attending charters.
