State commission can now approve charters, too
A new bill signed into law this week will allow charters to get approved by an alternative commission appointed by the State Board of Education, expanding that authority beyond just school districts.

Gov Quinn signs law that creates state agency to authorize charters along with districts. Explains why boards are needed. Would help to know if districts were holding up charter approval. In light of GA court decision outlawing charter board, did anyone check to see if this law passes muster with state constitution?
