'Neighbors ought to be concerned': Residents speak out against plan to open school for at-risk kids

A group of neighbors opposed to plans to lease the old Harmony School building to a private company that would open a school for at-risk kids turned in petitions with more than 150 signatures of those opposed to the project Monday at the District 175 School Board meeting.

Neighborhood worried about lack of details from IL district on a private school for at-risk students. Ambiguous, though, if residents are concerned about the nature of the school itself or simply the missing specifics. Story should be more clear—it doesn't tell us much at all about the school, its plan or the opposition.

Should also be pressing officials to explain the lack of transparency. That's the best way to encourage community engagement with the project.
