CareerWise, a statewide public-private partnership founded by entrepreneur Noel Ginsburg and Gov. John Hickenlooper in 2016 and implemented in 2017, is based on the Swiss youth apprenticeship system. High school juniors and seniors are eligible for three-year apprenticeships in fields ranging from financial services to manufacturing. Students earn $25,000 to $30,000 during their apprenticeship while splitting their time between work and school.
